Fireside Evenings at Our Place

From writer and director John Krasinski, IF is a heartwarming fantasy-comedy that blends live-action and animation. The story follows 12-year-old Bea, who, during a difficult time in her life, discovers she has a remarkable ability: she can see imaginary friends-known as Ifs-that have been forgotten by the children who created them.

With the help of her neighbour Cal (Ryan Reynolds), Bea sets out on an adventure to reunite these playful companions with their former families -or help them find new ones.

Featuring an all-star cast of voices, including Steve Carell, George Clooney, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emily Blunt, Bradley Cooper, and many more, IF is a whimsical, uplifting film for audiences of all ages.

A celebration of imagination, memory, and heating, this movie promises laughter, wonder, and heartfelt moments the whole family will enjoy.

There’s nothing quite like gathering around a fire as the sun sets! The Bonfire at the Amenity Building is the perfect way to unwind in the evenings, connect with neighbours, and enjoy the beautiful Okanagan nights.

No booking is required –   simply stop by the amenity building and our friendly staff will ignite the flame for you. Bring your friends, share some stories, and watch the sunset by the warmth of the fire.

BACK TO SCHOOL

With September here, school is back in session and school buses will be returning to the neighborhood. Please be extra cautious during the mornings and afternoons when children are walking to bus stops or being picked up and dropped off.

THE SPEED LIMIT ON ALL MCKINLEY BEACH ROADS IS 30 KM/H.

Please respect and obey this limit at all times to help ensure the safety of our families, children, pets, and fellow residents. Our roads are shared by pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles alike-keeping your speed down makes a big difference.

Let’s all do our part to keep our community safe by slowing down, staying alert, and watching for children on the roads and sidewalks.

REMINDER: BEACH ETIQUETTE & DOG ZONES AT MCKINLEY BEACH

We know your dog is part of the family! That’s why we’ve designated a dog-friendly section of McKinley Beach just for you (and your four-legged pals), along with a no-dog area for others to enjoy. This thoughtful division helps everyone relax and enjoy the beach.

The dog area is located at the south of the beach, and is well marked. Please respect the signage marking the different zones –    even though it feels like home, the designation exists for everyone’s comfort and safety.

Why It Matters (and the rules to remember):

  • In Kelowna, dogs are only allowed in parks or beaches that are designated for them by bylaw. Bringing dogs into non-dog areas is not permitted and could lead to a fine.
  • Everyone must clean up after their pets-please scoop the poop immediately and dispose of it in marked
  • Dogs are not permitted on the beach outside of the pet area
  • When not at the designated dog beach or off-leash park, dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times.
  • Dogs can be off-leash and enjoy a swim, but only within that designated area.

Why the rules exist:

  • Public health & safety- Dogs aren’t allowed in swimming areas or general beaches for hygiene and wildlife protection.
  • Shared enjoyment – Not everyone is comfortable around dogs; separating zones keeps both dog lovers and other beachgoers happy.
  • Respect for bylaws –  Kelowna’s Parks & Public Spaces Bylaw mandates that dogs stay in designated areas and handlers keep them under control.

DO

  • Bring your pup to the dog-friendly side only
  • Clean up immediately after your dog
  • Keep your dog on-leash in non designated areas
  • Check signage and follow local bylaws

DON’T

  • Don’t let them roam into the no-dog zone
  • Leave waste behind-it’s harmful and disrespectful
  • Let them off-leash where it’s not allowed
  • Assume any part of the beach is dog-allowed

Having a designated dog-friendly area at McKinley Beach is a privilege for our community. To keep this space available, it’s important that all residents follow the posted rules, respect other beachgoers, and clean up after their pets. Please remember that this amenity can be revoked if it is not used responsibly.
